Annotatsiya
This article provides a comparative analysis of the linguistic, pragmatic, and cultural features of English and Uzbek social media discourse in the context of digital communication. The study examines the specific characteristics of new communicative forms emerging on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, and X, including abbreviations, neologisms, multimodality, discourse markers, emotional expression strategies, and code-switching phenomena. While English digital discourse is characterized by conciseness, directness, active use of internet slang, and pragmatic markers, Uzbek online communication demonstrates the preservation of national speech etiquette, politeness strategies, culturally specific expressions, and the increasing use of hybrid forms based on English borrowings. The findings reveal the interaction between global digital trends and national-cultural features in English and Uzbek social media discourse. This research has significant theoretical and practical value for the fields of digital linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and intercultural communication.References
